Richard Henry Burton VC

The following letter is from Geoff Burton, the son of Richard Burton VC, who won his Victoria Cross In Italy on 8th of October, 1944 whilst serving with 1DWR.

Dear sir,

Please find attached some of the collection of pictures I have so far scanned of my father. Two are at the VC and GC assoc gatherings, one with the queen mother, my mother Dorothy and my sister Joyce, the other with Margaret Thatcher and my mother. Two older ones, one from Rome after entering the city in 1944 (with two regimental comrades who as yet I cant identify) and another on returning to Melton Mowbray I believe in 1945, where the Paras provided a guard of honour. And finally one that was issued showing my father next to his Victoria Cross. I hope these will be of interest and should you wish any further ones please let me know.
