Introduction to the Regimental Association
This section of the website focuses on the regimental
Old
Comrades
Association, its purpose, origins, structure, how it operates today and to an extent on its plans for the future.
From time to time the President of the Association, (currently) Colonel Nick Borwell OBE, sets out his thoughts and plans for the association.
Through the medium of the internet, past members of the regiment can be drawn together in a way not previously possible; and at the same time be kept in touch with the regular battalion. The principle way for old comrades to keep in touch with each other is through the Guest Book for which individuals must register as members. The number of members currently stands at around 1070.
The site endeavours to keep members informed of upcoming events. To this extent it relies on information being provided from a number of sources and it particularly encourages individuals to send in their best photos for publication in the gallery.
Finally, every regiment likes to boast of facts and idiosyncrasies which make it different from other regiments. Some of those,which all 'Dukes' are proud of, are set out at Who We Were
