Dear Sir’s and Gentlemen
It is with great sadness that I have to advise you that Drum Major John Allerton died recently of age related illnesses.
John served as an outstanding Drum Major. An article from the Iron Duke is attached.
John’s funeral will take place on the 31st of August at 1400hrs at:
St. Martin’s Church, The Street, Fornham Saint Martin, Bury Saint Edmund, IP31 1SW.
I will act as Standard Bearer and represent the Regiment.
Members of the Regiment are most welcome to attend the funeral and a gathering at the Woolpack next door for a drink and bite to eat.
