As many will be aware June 6th, 2026 will mark 20 years since The Yorkshire Regiment was formed from the Prince of Wales’s Own, The Green Howards and The Duke of Wellington’s Regiments.
The Royal Yorkshire Regiment HQ has now released details of events to mark the occasion, which will take place in several locations on different days, between the 1st and 12th of June. Here are the dates to mark in your calendars:-
05 Jun. Keighley Freedom Parade – 12:30 – 15:00hrs.
06 Jun. Halifax Freedom Parade and Church Service – 10:45 – 14:00hrs.
During the Minster Service a media connection will be made with 1 R YORKS, in Germany and a small 2 R YORKS party led by Alcuin Johnson, in Normandy.
07 Jun. Beverley Freedom Parade and Church Service – 10:30 – 12:30hrs
07 Jun. Beverley Freedom Parade and Church Service – 14:30 – 17:00hrs
08 Jun. Church Service in York Minster. 10:30 – 13:00hrs
09 Jun. Freedom Parade in Richmond. 10:30 – 13:00hrs
12 Sep. Parade/ Families Day, at Imphal Barracks. Details to follow at a later date.
