Geraldine Carter’s funeral will be in Halifax Minster on Friday 6th March at 12.00. This will be followed by the Committal at Parkwood Crematorium at 1.30 pm. The wake will then take place in Halifax Minster following the committal.As you will know Geraldine was an immensely loyal and generous supporter of the Regiment in Calderdale for so many years. For the wider Regiment perhaps most notably when she was Mayor in 2001 to 2002, as we headed into our Tercentenary celebrations and did so much to harness local support in our home county to mark these. She has also been a Museum Trustee for the last eight years where again she was full of energy, commitment and ideas.
Notably too she has asked that donations at the funeral be made towards the cost of repairing the roof above our Regimental Chapel, in Halifax Minster.
It would be good if we could reflect her dedication to and care for the Regiment by a fitting representation from the Regiment at her funeral.
Probably too far for many here but possible perhaps for some within easier travelling distance.
